Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart said on NewsNation: “We have to ask, now, about the possibility of foul play — is there somebody who has interceded to take the general out of the picture? He was a man with some of the most sensitive U.S. military intelligence secrets in his head, especially particle beam technology.”
Monica Jacinto Reza, 60, a materials scientist and rocket engineer with ties to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, vanished on June 22, 2025 while hiking in Angeles National Forest, California. Despite extensive searches with helicopters, dogs, and volunteers, no trace has been found. She co-invented “Mondaloy,” a nickel-based superalloy used in advanced rocket engines for national security launches.
The Dead
Nuno F.G. Loureiro, 47, the director of MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center, was shot multiple times at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts in December 2025. His work focused on plasma physics and nuclear fusion — a potential game-changer for global energy systems.
Carl Grillmair, 67, an astrophysicist at Caltech’s Infrared Processing and Analysis Center, was fatally shot on his front porch in Llano, California on February 16, 2026 around 6 a.m. His research contributed to NASA’s NEOWISE and NEO Surveyor infrared telescope projects — technology using the same physics as military satellite and hypersonic missile tracking systems. A suspect has been arrested, but the motive remains unclear.
Jason Thomas, 45, Assistant Director of Chemical Biology at pharmaceutical giant Novartis, was found dead in Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, Massachusetts on March 17, 2026. He had been missing for three months. Thomas worked on cancer treatment research and had previously worked with the Department of Health and Human Services.
Congressional Alarm
The pattern has not gone unnoticed on Capitol Hill. Congressman Eric Burlison stated: “The disappearance of multiple scientists and military personnel with ties to advanced research is deeply concerning.”
Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett, who has pushed for UFO disclosure, commented on McCasland’s disappearance: “Everybody’s talking about the UFO stuff.”
The Timing
The intrigue deepens when considering the timeline. On February 20, 2026, President Trump posted on Truth Social directing the Pentagon to identify and release files on “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”
General McCasland — who reportedly possessed knowledge of secret UFO programs — disappeared exactly one week later.
