Besides the big cats, it was the infamous battle between the Oklahoma-based zoo owner Joe Exotic and Tampa-based animal rights activist Carole Baskin that caught everybody’s attention. While Joe blatantly accused Baskin throughout the docu-series of “killing” her husband Don Lewis and “feeding” him to the tigers, she maintained innocence and continues to remain so to date.
And now, shocking details regarding the death of the ‘Tiger King’ series star’s husband have come to light, after a woman came forward to share a few startling details surrounding the highly mysterious disappearance of Lewis.
During an interview with the CBS limited series ‘48 Hours Suspicion’ on September 9, a woman called Trish Farr-Payne reportedly made startling details available regarding the missing case of Lewis and her former husband Kenny Farr and Baskin’s alleged involvement in it. She has alleged that her ex-husband instructed her to not talk about Lewis after his disappearance in the late 90s. “Don’s gone, and I don’t want you talking about him,” Kenny allegedly told her. She further claimed that her then-husband was a “handyman” who worked for Lewis and Baskin and could be connected to his disappearance.
She reportedly said during the interview that she remained discreet about the details for years as she was “afraid” for her kids. “You know, I had my kids. I was afraid of them. I was more afraid for them than anything,” she said.
Another startling detail revealed by Farr-Payne is regarding the “mysterious freezer”
which was bought by her ex-husband with a padlock. She said during the interview that the freezer disappeared from her home “about a week after Don disappeared.”
Furthermore, it isn’t the first time Farr-Payne has expressed her concerns over her former husband and Baskin being allegedly involved with Lewis missing. According to Tampa Bay Times, in 2000, she had informed authorities that “she believed Farr [Kenny] was somehow involved.”
Farr-Payne claimed that her husband chose to stay home the same weekend Lewis went missing, despite being a regular to work otherwise. Reports also suggest her having noted that Kenny returned home Sunday night in Lewis’ van which according to her had “pistols and rifles”. She alleged that her former husband had warned her against leaving him. He said she would go “in the grinder like I did Don.”
Meanwhile, Baskin has brushed all the allegations against her as rumors and even slammed Netflix’s docu-series ‘Tiger King’ for its sensationalism. She wrote in a blog post on her website BigCatRescue.org, “There are no words for how disappointing it is to see that the docuseries not only does not do any of that but has the sole goal of being as salacious and sensational as possible,” It has a segment devoted to suggesting, with lies and innuendos from people who are not credible, that I had a role in the disappearance of my husband Don 21 years ago. The series presents this without any regard for the truth or in most cases even giving me an opportunity before publication to rebut the absurd claims. The unsavory lies are better for getting viewers.” she noted further.
