The Energy Department has finally come around to what many of us already suspected: the Covid-19 virus probably leaked from a Chinese research lab. It’s about time, right? But let’s not pat them on the back just yet, because apparently, they’re only saying this with “low confidence.” I mean, why bother having any confidence at all when it comes to a global pandemic that has killed millions of people, right?

And it’s not just the Energy Department. The FBI has also stated that the virus most likely leaked from a lab. But wait, there’s more! Four other agencies still prefer the “natural spillover” theory that the virus came from an animal at a nearby meat market. And two other agencies, including the CIA, can’t seem to make up their minds.

So, what does this mean for us? Well, not much, apparently. According to White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan, there’s still “no definitive answer.” So, let’s just sit back and wait for millions more to die while our intelligence community tries to figure it out.

But hey, it’s not like we didn’t see this coming. Back in January, the US Office of Inspector General criticized the National Institutes of Health for not properly overseeing US-funded virus experiments in China. And now, we’re left with a pandemic that has devastated the world economy and killed countless people.

And while some experts have come around to the idea that the virus may have escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, others still believe that it came from animals at the Huanan Seafood Market. Direct evidence for either theory has yet to be publicized, so I guess we’ll just keep waiting while the death toll rises.

But hey, who cares, right? As long as we can continue to play the blame game and point fingers, who needs actual solutions? And who needs a definitive answer when we can just continue to bicker and argue while people die?

In conclusion, it’s about time the Energy Department admitted that Covid-19 probably leaked from a Chinese research lab.
