MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. โ Hart County has a reason to celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day. Angela Craddock, Athletic Director at Hart County High School, has been named the 2026 5th Region Athletic Director of the Year โ a regional honor recognizing outstanding leadership in high school athletics administration across Central Kentucky.
The award highlights a leader who has quietly been one of the most active administrators in the region. Craddock is currently serving her second year as president of the 5th Region Athletic Directors Association, a peer organization that guides policy, compliance, and athletic governance for area schools. She is also in her third year as commissioner of the Central Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference, overseeing competitive athletics at the middle school level across multiple counties.
But that’s not all she carries on her plate.
In addition to her administrative roles, Craddock serves as head coach of the Hart County High School volleyball team and doubles as the school’s financial officer โ a level of multi-role commitment that is rare even in small-county school systems.
A Leader Who Does It All
In rural Kentucky, athletic directors at small schools often wear several hats โ but Craddock’s portfolio stands out. Managing a high school athletic program, leading a regional association, running a middle school conference, coaching a varsity sport, and overseeing athletic finances simultaneously is a workload that demands exceptional organizational skill and genuine passion for the job.
The 5th Region Athletic Director of the Year award is a peer-recognition honor, meaning it reflects the opinion of fellow athletic directors across the region โ the people who work alongside Craddock and see her work up close.
What It Means for Hart County
For a county the size of Hart โ with a population hovering around 19,000 โ having a regional award winner leading athletic operations is a significant point of community pride. Hart County High School’s Raiders compete across a full slate of sports including football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer, golf, tennis, and archery.
Under Craddock’s watch, those programs operate under a director who also knows what it means to stand on the sideline as a coach โ and that dual perspective matters when it comes to supporting student-athletes and their families.
